The player controls one of the two characters in the game, two plumber brothers. The player has two ways to navigate the screen, namely the world map and the level itself. On the map, you can see the approximate placement of various objects and creatures. The player’s ultimate goal is to get to the castle, which is at the end of the map. On the way, there are many enemies and obstacles to overcome. The routes of the roads are connected to each other by fortresses, which are also haunted places. This allows the player to change the path of movement at any time. When the player enters a fortress or other structure, he enters the game level, where most of the game takes place. There are a variety of enemies and game bosses. Passing the levels can be any way the player wants, there is no single algorithm.
Bosses are usually at the end of levels. There are several bosses in the game, but to kill the main boss at the end of the game, the player needs to destroy the weaker bosses. There are also some bonuses in the game. The first, is the Super Mushroom. When the player comes into contact with it, he becomes large, which makes it easier to defeat enemies. The second bonus is the Fire Flower, which allows the player to throw fireballs at the enemy. The last addition is the “Magic Cloak”, which is marked with a feather icon and thus reduces the weight of the character, so he can fly in the air. Bonuses cannot be combined with each other, but if the player collects several bonuses, they are stored in the inventory and can be used later.
Another character is an intelligent dinosaur. He can be used as a riding animal. He will also help the hero in battle by devouring enemies. The dinosaur can spit grabbed enemies at other enemies, so it will kill more enemies. Depending on the enemies the dinosaur grabs, it gains new abilities – to fly, to spit three fireballs, to emit a whirlwind. Some dinosaurs already have some of these abilities. Thus, by ingesting turtles, they gain additional skills. The game also features multiplayer, through which players can take turns completing levels with different characters. It is not possible to play online. The game has a lot of artifacts, secrets and hidden paths. There are also additional levels that can be unlocked after getting to a particular location. If you reveal all the secret levels of the game, you can get access to additional levels. They can also be opened with a special key.
